Description

Crispy Chicken Wonton Tacos are a delicious twist on classic tacos, featuring crispy wonton shells filled with savory chicken and topped with a refreshing slaw.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 wonton wrappers
  • Cooking spray
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, diced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • ½ cup shredded carrots
  • ¼ cup chopped green onions
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice
  • ½ teaspoon honey
  • ¼ cup chopped cilantro
  • ¼ cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly coat a muffin tin with cooking spray. Press a wonton wrapper into each muffin cup to form a taco shell shape and spray with cooking spray.
  2. Bake for 7-9 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Let cool slightly.
  3. In a bowl, toss diced chicken with soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic powder, ground ginger, salt, and black pepper. Marinate for 10 minutes.
  4. Heat a pan over medium-high heat, cook chicken for 5-7 minutes until fully cooked and slightly golden. Remove from heat.
  5. In another bowl, mix cabbage, carrots, and green onions. In a separate bowl, combine mayonnaise, lime juice, and honey. Toss vegetables with dressing.
  6. Assemble tacos by adding chicken to cooled wonton shells, topping with slaw, drizzling with sweet chili sauce, and garnishing with cilantro and sesame seeds.
  7. Serve immediately while wonton shells are still crisp.

Notes

  • Wonton shells can brown quickly, so keep an eye on them while baking.
  • Feel free to add more vegetables to the slaw for extra crunch.
  • These tacos are best enjoyed fresh for optimal texture and flavor.
