Description
These Greek Yogurt Bagels are an easy and healthy alternative to traditional bagels. Made with only a few simple ingredients, they’re perfect for breakfast or a snack.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt, thick and full-fat or 2%
- 1 cup all-purpose flour, or half whole wheat flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Everything bagel seasoning, sesame seeds, cinnamon sugar, or shredded cheese (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease the surface.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl until evenly combined.
- Add Greek yogurt and mix with a spatula or your hands until a shaggy dough forms. Adjust consistency with additional flour or yogurt as needed.
- Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface. Knead gently, divide into 4 equal pieces, roll each into a 6-inch rope, and shape into rings by pinching the ends together to seal.
- Arrange the bagels on the prepared tray, brush the tops with beaten egg, and sprinkle with your choice of toppings.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown and puffed. Cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For a healthier option, you can use whole wheat flour.
- Feel free to experiment with different toppings to suit your taste.
- These bagels can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
