Description

A delightful tropical cake made with guava puree, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup guava puree
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1½ cups sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour your cake pan.
  2. Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy (about 3-5 minutes).
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the guava puree and vanilla extract.
  5. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
  6. Add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture alternately with the milk, starting and ending with the flour.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread evenly.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Use ripe guavas for a more intense flavor. Don’t overmix the batter to keep it light and fluffy.
