Description

A simple and delightful dessert made with fresh strawberries and a buttery cake topping, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Layer the sliced strawberries evenly at the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  3. Sprinkle the dry cake mix over the strawberries, ensuring they’re covered entirely.
  4. Drizzle the melted butter over the top of the cake mix.
  5. Pour the water over the entire mixture. Don’t mix it.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
  7. Allow to cool slightly, then serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream if desired.

Notes

Allow the cake to cool a bit before serving for the best texture. Adjust sugar based on strawberry sweetness.
