Description

A delightful stack of golden toast layered with creamy custard and fresh strawberries, perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 slices golden brioche bread (or your favorite bread)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (more if you like it sweeter)
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • Whipped cream (optional) for topping

Instructions

  1. Whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and sugar until well combined.
  2. Dip the slices of brioche bread into the egg mixture, letting them soak just a little.
  3. Cook the soaked brioche slices in a skillet over medium heat until both sides are golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  4. Prepare the custard by mixing together milk, eggs, and sugar in a separate saucepan, cooking on low heat until thickened.
  5. Stack one slice of brioche down, spread a layer of custard, and top with fresh strawberries. Repeat the process until stacked.
  6. Serve warm with whipped cream, if desired.

Notes

Let the custard cool slightly before pouring onto the bread. Use day-old brioche for better texture. Avoid overcooking the bread.
